We are excited to be advertising for a psychologist position in our well established South perinatal community team in Birmingham.
We are looking for Clinical/Counselling Psychologists with an interest in perinatal mental health to work in our community team' in South Birmingham. The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides a multi-disciplinary, regional service to treat mothers with mental health problems, both during pregnancy and in the first year post-partum. There is an Outreach team as well as the 10 bedded inpatient Mother and Baby Unit at the Barberry. The South Community team is based at Longbridge (B45 9PL)/Barberry (B15 2SJ).
These are fixed term band 7 positions, also appropriate for current 8a's depending upon experience.
You will join a large, active and supportive perinatal psychology team who meet regularly. This service enjoys significant psychology leadership and supports the development of our psychological clinicians.
The main clinical work undertaken is to provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention for mothers and their babies and families in the community. You will work with women with moderate to severe mental health difficulties, including birth trauma, parent-infant work and OCD and depression. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to our service wide group programme. The role may also involve contributing to the supervision of psychology trainees or psychology assistants working in the community setting. The post holder will act as a member of the MDT, attend meetings and offer advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to team colleagues.
