About The Role
We are looking for people who have experience in any of the following: Drama, Dance, Art, Music or Media to take the skills and knowledge that you have and work in a setting where you use them supporting children in a secondary school environment. You would be working in the capacity of a Cover Supervisor, providing vital support to pupils whilst their normal teacher isn’t in work. You will be required to work closely with pupils, including building positive relationships to help them get the most out of their time in education, while at the same time utilising your knowledge of the creative arts.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to get a feel for working in schools and gain valuable experience for a potential future role working with children.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher.
* Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Assist with classroom activities and support students as needed.
* Uphold school policies and procedures.
* Communicate effectively with teaching staff and administration.
About The School
We can offer you paid work in secondary schools across the Dudley and surrounding area supporting pupils. The Cover Supervisor Role can either be full or part-time depending on your circumstances.
About You
* Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check*
* Have recent experience working with children or young people.
* Have a warm and friendly nature to build positive relationships with pupils.
* Have a creative arts background that you can incorporate into schools.
* All staff we register will undergo thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
