Days & Hours: 2 x 12.5-hour shifts per week. 7.00pm - 7.30am. The nights will be set shifts on a permanent basis. Tuesday and Wednesday are not required. Please outline your availability on application.

About this client/child: Snap has had the pleasure of working with Ben since he was a toddler. He lives in his family home in Chigwell with Mummy, Daddy and 2-year-old brother. He enjoys playing, exploring the world in his power chair, sensory play and watching his favourite TV shows. He has a great sense of humour and expresses his likes and dislikes through gestures, vocalization and is beginning to use his AAC device as well as Now and Next cards to support his communication.
Overview of role: A typical night starts at 7.00pm after a full handover. The waking night carer will assist Ben with his bedtime routine, administer medication, settle him off to sleep, and continuously observe via a video monitor and record all movements throughout the night on an electronic log. Ben will require assistance throughout the night, soothing him back to sleep, repositioning, or personal care. The waking night carer will manage the morning routine until 7.30am, when a team member or Ben's Mum or Dad will take over. Tuesday and Wednesday are not available; however, all other night shifts are available, and if you are seeking more than 2 nights per week, our client can potentially offer additional hours.
Who this job would suit: A calm, patient and kind waking night carer that naturally uses a holistic approach to their work. You will be experienced in a waking night carer role supporting children, with excellent communication skills. For this role, it is essential that you can offer 2 nights cover each week, these shifts will be set. Non-smoker / vaper essential.
