Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time ward clerk for Redlynch Ward, which is a 27-bedded inpatient ward and a discharge lounge. The successful candidate will have experience of using Windows-based PC applications, be customer-focused, and committed to providing an outstanding service to our patients and staff. We are looking for a candidate to work within an existing team and to have experience of working with the general public in an administrative role, preferably within a healthcare environment. You will be responsible for a wide range of administrative support to in-patients and clinical teams. The post is for 15 hours worked over 2 days. The successful candidate will start on point one of the salary scale unless able to demonstrate previous NHS experience.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be responsible for a wide range of administrative support to in-patients and clinical teams, ensuring everything is in place to facilitate the smooth running of a busy ward. Duties include taking telephone calls and liaising with other departments, patients, families, GP surgeries, and referring hospitals.

Essential and Desirable
* NVQ level 3 qualification or relevant experience
* Ability to undergo further training as necessary
* Experience of MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
* Experience of working in a reception area with contact with patients and relatives
* Good written and verbal skills
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively face-to-face and possess good telephone skills
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Awareness of the importance of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive information
* Ability to record and input accurate data with attention to detail
* Experience of working in the NHS
