Job Description – Business Development Manager
The Role:
As a business development manager, you’ll be a key member of the commercial team, reporting to the Technical Director and Managing Director. You will combine your technical knowledge, industry experience and sales skills to achieve the company's growth aspirations.
Description of activities and responsibilities required to succeed:
1. Support the growth of the business in line with agreed plans and targets.
2. Research and explore new markets that you and/or the business identifies.
3. Develop and build relationships with both new and existing customers.
4. Key account management – Ongoing communication and support with ongoing and potential key accounts.
5. Help drive service excellence through the business.
6. Liaise with engineering teams with customer technical specifications so that proposals can be formulated and amended and a sound technical and commercial solution is presented to the customer.
7. Proactively manage UK wide customer visits, which may incorporate site inspections (by other team members) to survey and/or measure on-site heat exchange equipment and related process equipment.
8. Discuss and advise with customers all basic information relating to types, functions, features and benefits.
9. Present information internally about customer trends when required and contribute to marketing activity and development plans.
10. Deliver outstanding customer service and adopt cared relationship management.
11. Play a key role in progressing customer proposals to order stage including the negotiation process.
12. Extensive industrial networking, including attending events such as conferences and exhibitions.
13. Work from home/customer visits 4 days per week, and attend the office once per week.

5. Good understanding of different industrial sectors, key machinery providers and blue chip companies.
6. Basic understanding of heat transfer equipment.

8. Sales experience.
9. Proficient in social media marketing, particularly LinkedIn.
