The Role The Manual/CNC Machinist will be responsible for machining compressor components for small batch work in accordance with engineering drawings. Candidate Requirements Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential. A Certificate in Machine Shop Technology/Machine Tool Technology or a time-served apprenticeship would be advantageous. Experience in manual machining, as well as reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings, is essential. Experience working with CNC machines and CAD/CAM software would be beneficial. Key Responsibilities Machining components using manual turning, manual mills, lathes, saws, and radial drills. Self-inspecting components against drawings and reporting any manufacturing errors to the line manager to agree on corrective action. Ensuring production requirements are met in line with the production schedule. Monitoring and maintaining tool conditions. Providing input to improve run times and reduce downtime, supporting continuous improvement. Performing all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
