A fantastic opportunity is available to join a specialist fit-out company based in the Northeast, focused on delivering high-quality retail and leisure projects across the North East, North West, Yorkshire, and Birmingham. As part of their ongoing expansion, they are excited to announce the opening of a new office in Leeds within the next 12 months. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional spaces, on time and within budget, and are seeking a skilled and motivated Contracts Manager to join the growing team.
This job will involve working across the Northeast, Yorkshire, Northwest, and Birmingham. To be successful in this role, you must have demonstrable experience working in the Retail / Commercial Fit Out sector for a UK-based company.
Until the Leeds office is opened, the successful candidate will be expected to visit the head office in Newcastle twice a week.
The Duties
1. Agree Project Objectives.
2. Ensure understanding and representation of Client's interests.
3. Provide independent advice on the management of Projects.
4. Supervise Project Team and Sub-Contractors and ensure Sub-Contractor Guidelines are being met.
5. Ensure Risk Assessments are carried out on site to enable compliance with Health & Safety legislation and ensure ongoing adherence to Health & Safety protocols.
6. Ensure provision of Method Statements to the Client prior to commencement of works on site.
7. Ensure that all aims of the Project are being met.
8. Cost management of labour, resources, and materials throughout the project and oversee Project accounting, costing, and billing.
9. Oversee procurement of materials.
10. Ensure adherence to quality and assurance protocols.
11. Problem solve.
12. Use specialist construction management computer applications.
13. Ensure knowledge and awareness of your roles and responsibilities under the Company's integrated management systems in relation to Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental.
14. Ensure knowledge and understanding of the Company's policies and procedures in relation to data protection legislation.
15. Work without supervision.
16. Demonstrate a commitment to own personal development within the role.
The Requirements
1. Proven track record and experience in Contract management specific to the delivery of retail fitouts preferably with high-end brands.
2. Be able to demonstrate a proven track record in completing projects to tight time scales and deadlines.
3. Hold a current SMSTS qualification.
4. Have a high level of Health & Safety Awareness.
5. Hold current First Aid and Scaffold Inspection Certificates.
6. Be experienced in all aspects of Construction from refurbishment in occupied buildings to new build projects.
7. Be used to operating in a disciplined, professional way using the company's various Management Systems.
8. Be capable of programming projects.
9. Be able to demonstrate that they can meet programme dates.
10. Be IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
