WHAT TO EXPECT
Push the boundaries as a Senior Process Engineer within JLR’s Current Manufacturing Engineering (CME) team. You will also be responsible for supporting and developing our new, technologically advanced powertrain assembly facilities that are currently under design and manufacture to support the JLR global powertrain transition into electrification.
The CME department are responsible for the development and introduction of modified and new processes and facilities associated with new model introductions and model year changes, within Machining, Assembly & Test. Additionally we are responsible and accountable for engineering issues in the day to day running of the Engine Manufacturing Centre.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Manage a team to plan, develop and implement new or retooled facilities for CME from concept design to stable running production
* Planning, developing and improvement of manufacturing facilities
* Provide feasibility statements for Product Development designs to suit manufacturing build requirements.
* Evaluate suitability of manufacturing technologies for a wide range of applications
* Lead PFMEA / Control Plan and Process audit completion for relevant area of the business
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
* Knowledge, experience and understanding of production processes and equipment with an ability to analyse and interpret performance data output from those facilities
* Previous experience of process improvement, line balancing and productivity savings
* A good understanding of engineering including the ability to review engineering drawings
* Proven project management experience in current production environment
* A clear understanding of part, assembly and system interaction which involves tolerances, variability, and methods of location and measurement.
