We are delighted to be working with an exceptional all-through SEN School near Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, to find dedicated Learning Support Assistants to support their students with complex needs, including ASD. Position Details:
- Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire
- Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
- Hours: Monday-Friday 09:00-15:30
- Salary: £83-£90/Day inclusive of 12.07% Holiday Pay
- Contract: Temp to Perm
Key Responsibilities as a SEN Learning Support Assistant:
- Build warm, trusting relationships with students with ASD, creating a safe and supportive environment to help them feel secure and thrive academically and socially.
- Implement tailored strategies to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, promoting their communication, social skills, and independence.
- Encourage students' personal development and independence, maintaining high expectations of behavior and learning.
- Assist in providing high-quality, engaging, and differentiated educational activities that cater to the unique needs of students.
- Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities, ensuring a structured and calming environment that promotes learning for students with ASD & Complex Needs.
- Be flexible in responding to the changing needs of students and adapt to different tasks and strategies as required.
- Promote the cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, and physical development of students.
SEN Learning Support Assistant Skills & Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly desirable.
- A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach when working with students, particularly those with ASD.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, and the welfare of all students.
- A valid Enhanced Child and Adult DBS (or willingness to apply for one).
- Must be able to commute to the Welwyn Garden City.
