This post is a rare opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join the Orthopaedic Research team. We are a multidisciplinary team that delivers research across both the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospital sites in elective ortho, trauma and sarcoma, as well as working closely with Plastics Research. Newcastle Hospitals is home to a Major Trauma Centre, the North of England Bone and Soft Tissue Tumour Service, and the Regional Burns Service, among other specialist services, affording us the opportunity to work on a wide variety of studies and trials.
This post will predominantly be based at the RVI working in trauma research, but there may be a need for cross-site and cross-specialty working.
Our service runs Monday to Friday, and can involve early starts and occasional late finishes, however there are no weekend or on-call commitments.

• lead a number of research studies and trials
• work to all regulatory guidelines including Good Clinical Practice, Informed Consent and Data Protection

Under the direction of the orthopaedic research coordinator, to be responsible for the day-to-day running of specified clinical trials involving orthopaedic patients undergoing joint replacement surgery. This will include the recruitment, assessment and ongoing follow-up of patients for specific trials.
