Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Glascoed Based
Rate: £43.54 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35
Contract: 12 Month Contract initially
This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based in Glascoed.
Typical duties include (but are not limited to):
1. Ensuring operational capability.
2. Long term reliability of supporting plant and equipment for the site.
3. Compliance to national and international standards and legislation.
4. Good background in process engineering and process optimisation with knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques.
5. Carrying out Risk Assessments of manufacturing processes and equipment.
6. Leading and/or managing process development projects.
7. Project/risk management and the ability to use associated tools and techniques.
Experience required:
1. Written communication skills.
2. Ability to communicate and liaise with other teams.
3. Understand business management framework.
4. Lead and sign off work to meet business case applications.
5. Good leadership and organisational skills.
6. Good interpersonal skills required.
7. Understand operational priorities and liaise with engineering and production management to prioritise tasks.
8. Good communication skills.
9. Required to liaise with, and operate within multifunctional teams.
10. Minimum HNC / HND in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
11. Membership of Professional Engineering Institution.
12. Demonstrable knowledge in manufacturing in a high hazard environment.
13. Experience of high hazard environments; familiar with HAZOP (Hazard And Operability Study), COMAH, DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations), PUWER, SIL (Safety Integrity Levels), MSER and other regulations and standards.
14. IOSH Managing Safety / NEBOSH Certificate.
15. Experience of Contractor Management.
16. Familiarity with the Life Cycle Management (LCM) process.
