Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for two Graduate Engineers to join our growing team. In particular, we’re looking for:
* Graduates who are self-starters and are able to work effectively both within a team and individually.
* Graduates with robust technical knowledge of their relevant degree.
* Graduates who, through their courses, have undertaken learning in the area of safety management. This may have included consideration of hazard identification techniques, understanding the concept of risk and risk management in design and operation, assessment of functional safety, and the development of Safety Cases for safety critical items of equipment.
* Graduates who can recognise the commercial and technical opportunities of working within a small growing company and are happy to take on challenges in all aspects of the business, including business development and financial management, in addition to the core technical tasking.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant subject;
* Previous experience, e.g. summer placement in a relevant role is desirable but not essential.
You will have a smart, professional approach and will be able to fit quickly into a growing, flexible team. You’ll need to provide clients with a high level of assurance that they are being supported by a professional, responsible and caring consultancy. Excellent communication skills and a high standard of English and grammar will be required. You will need to be highly effective in organising your own time and workload, especially when working from home.
Due to the nature of the work, you must be able to obtain UK security clearance.
What will you be doing?
As a Graduate, you will be an inquisitive self-starter who proactively supports a broad range of projects and activities – from bid support through to technical project delivery – with guidance and mentoring from experienced senior staff.
Responsibilities:
Project Delivery
* Proactively support technical input to company projects as directed/guided by the Project Manager and/or Senior Staff, within the time scales and technical quality agreed;
* Support the Project Manager in the management of relevant projects;
* Support client meetings under the supervision of the Project Manager and/or Senior Staff.
Business Development
* Support Bid Managers in the development of proposals as directed, within the time scales and technical quality agreed;
* Support Business Development activities as requested by the Chief Business Development Officer and/or Account Managers.
General
* Actively progress development towards achieving Chartered or similar status of a relevant professional institution, including maintaining a Personal Development Plan and following our Graduate Development Scheme.
* Uphold and apply all company policies and adhere fully to company policies, systems, processes, and timetable;
* Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel and able to write to a high standard in English;
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in support of articulating complex problems.
* Able to support projects away from the office, with some travel required predominantly within the UK, but with potential for some foreign travel;
* Act with the highest professional integrity in all situations, in accordance with company and relevant professional institution standards.

You will be based at our office in Bristol. Outside of attendance at meetings, work from home may be done on a flexible basis to suit the successful candidate as long as programmes of work are achieved.
