Job Description OBEX specialises in manufacturing, converting, and distributing fire classified façade membranes, surface protection films, adhesive tapes and other associated products to manufacturers, fabricators, installers, and resellers. New product development is key to the continuing success and growth of OBEX. Regulations and requirements in the industry keep getting tighter and manufacturers are required to invest in this area to service the industry and encourage the use of superior performing products. You will play a key role in managing and supporting the end-to-end new product development process Initially, the NPD Project Coordinator would be responsible for updating and maintaining the OBEX NPD project tracking platform. They would also be responsible for receiving and collating product feedback, new ideas etc. We expect the NPD Coordinator to progress and be able to run their own projects and contribute to the OBEX product range. They will work closely with the Technical Director to develop market leading products. Specialisations The most important ‘specialisations’ we are looking for with this role and candidate are: - Familiar with R&D / NPD practices Knowledge of the construction industry A can-do attitude and creative thinking to overcome roadblocks and difficulties that come up in product development processes. Ability to learn the product requirements and technical standards that our products need to meet. Key Responsibilities Tracking NPD projects and adding updates to the Monday.com platform Coordinating product testing – ensuring products are sent to the laboratory on time, and getting completion dates for all testing Providing a weekly report of activity and tasks completed for Senior management/Shareholder/Consultant review Creating project Gantt chart timelines and keeping them updated Taking notes from NPD meetings, setting actions and ensuring they’re completed Receiving feedback from other departments and updating the New Product Ideas list, and the Reward vs Complexity Matrix Skills Required Experience in R&D or a related role Understanding of product development and industry standards A passion and enthusiasm for innovation and making the construction industry a safer place Excellent teamwork Hungry, humble, smart Confident communication skills Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills IT skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of construction best practices.
