Production Supervisor

Salary: £33,000 - £36,000 per annum (plus bonus up to 5%)
Hours: 37-hour week, Monday to Thursday 7am – 3pm & Friday 7am – 12pm
Our client is a leading precision manufacturing business based in Redditch and is seeking a proven Team Leader/Supervisor ideally with previous experience working in manufacturing dealing with Production Targets, Quality, Safety & Finance. The role is challenging but rewarding as you will be crucial to ensuring that production targets are met, allowing for 100% on-time delivery to key customers.
Key Skills/Experience Needed
1. Team Leading/Supervisory experience leading and motivating others to deliver results within a manufacturing business (background in assembly or machinery would be advantageous)
2. Previous experience of working with Quality Management Systems
3. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
4. Proven people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, communicate, and appropriately influence peers and team members
5. Basic IT Skills (ERP systems, MS Office etc.)
6. Strong EHS knowledge with the ability to conduct Risk Assessments, create Safe Working Practices in line with Human performance principles (NEBOSH or IOSH certified would be an added bonus!)
Key Responsibilities
1. Attend daily SQCD boards and review and report on employee performance data for the prior day and week to date i.e. actual v planned outputs, employee utilisation % and employee efficiency %
2. Ensure that all team members are adequately trained, aware of, and comply with Health & Safety procedures
3. Reporting of near misses and dangerous occurrences in line with company procedure and assist in corrective actions
4. Complete all accident reports relating to your department with first aider support
5. Ensure all operators are working to the correct manufacturing standards (i.e. Work Instructions, relevant Quality Procedures) and performance and quality targets are understood and worked towards
6. Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the Company’s Quality and Business Management System (QMS & BMS)
7. Develop and sustain a 5S culture using company literature and promote a ‘Can do’ attitude to developing an organised work area with clear visual indicators – Promote monthly scoring with improvement plans
8. Work with the Operations Manager and other Team Leaders to manage and prioritise daily and weekly employee work to customer demand and operational targets
9. Monitor raw material and production consumable stock levels to ensure no stock outs and that the business is operating with agreed inventory levels
10. Ensure completion of departmental weekly, monthly and annual stock checks to ensure accurate inventory levels
11. Manage, coach, mentor and develop team members to encourage and support a high-performance work culture. Contribute to the process of creating skills matrices for the department
