This position requires a motivated, inspirational, innovative and creative leader who can manage the ongoing developments and delivery of care on our in-patient assessment ward as part of the wider crisis service. The post holder will supervise and participate in the delivery of care and will ensure consistency and continuity in the quality of care. To organize and deploy staff as necessary within the shift according to competencies and workloads, to meet identified patient needs and priorities and to plan activities accordingly. To act in accordance with the legal requirements and statutory rules relating to practice and all Trust policies and procedures. To manage the defined clinical area, developing and using relationships and other health departments/community services/agencies. To identify learning needs of patients and relatives and staff providing ongoing instruction and assessment. To advise staff, patients, relatives and members of the public on the promotion of health and prevention of illness. To undertake and maintain a staff appraisal system and to identify the staff development needs. To meet learning objectives defined in the clinical area of pre and post basic learners and to be responsible for formal assessments. To manage staff sickness.
