Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:
1. Design and develop LV electrical systems for Electric Vehicle Charging applications, ensuring compliance with project requirements, safety regulations, and applicable standards, specifically BS EN 61439.
2. Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications using EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel.
3. Select appropriate components, equipment, and materials for AC power systems, considering factors such as efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and production teams, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with overall project design, ensuring all layouts and designs are suitable for production and meet safety requirements.
5. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate the viability and potential challenges of proposed electrical designs.
6. Support the procurement process by reviewing vendor proposals, assessing technical specifications, and providing guidance on equipment selection.
7. Oversee the manufacture and testing of AC electrical systems, troubleshooting any issues that arise and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
8. Conduct thorough documentation of electrical designs, including technical reports, operation manuals, and maintenance procedures.
9. Maintain regular contact with production staff to ensure all designs and product selections are suitable for manufacture and provide technical support as required.
Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:
1. Educated to HND/HNC or Degree.
2. Efficient in the use of Eplan - Highly Desirable.
3. Minimum of 5 years' electrical engineering design experience in a relevant discipline.
4. Experience of leading junior staff.
5. Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, and BS EN 61349, with the ability to ensure compliance with these standards in design activities.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clear presentation of technical information.
7. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
