The Dispatch Clerk coordinates all daily courier collections and transport arrangements. This role ensures efficient dispatching, tracking, and reporting of shipments while maintaining excellent service levels and strong communication between the warehouse, client, and the courier company.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure courier services used for each load is the best priced service level while still maintaining customer satisfaction.
2. Capture all parcels to be dispatched onto courier software.
3. Label parcels with tracking labels.
4. Ensure service standards are met by coordinating logistics services, give proactive feedback.
5. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
6. Identify and communicate improvement gaps and actively participate in solution finding.
7. Release stock to client / driver once stock has been checked.
8. Accurate dispatching of stock to clients and drivers.
9. Interact with customers and ensure no customer complaints relating to order accuracy, damaged stock, delivery not on time, or stock availability.
10. Maintain accurate records of courier and transport services used.
11. Ensure that all PODs (Proof of Delivery) documents are received from couriers and transporters and that the corresponding electronic filing system is kept up to date.
12. Compile daily feedback reports on activities.
