Logistics Planner (Night Shift) – Dover
Join a vibrant, fast-paced logistics team in Dover to help coordinate freight and transit operations efficiently while working the night shift.
This position is ideal for a well-organised, meticulous individual with prior experience in transportation scheduling, logistics planning, and real-time problem-solving. Maintain high service levels while working in a vital role that keeps supply chains running smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Arranging and planning goods transportation routes.
* Tracking shipments and fixing any problems with transit in real time.
* Coordinating with internal teams, drivers, and clients to guarantee on-time delivery.
* Handling transport documentation, such as paperwork related to customs clearance.
* Optimising loads and routes to cut expenses and increase efficiency.
* Using tracking systems and logistics software to monitor vehicle whereabouts.
* Ensuring adherence to company policies and transportation regulations.
* Proactively managing unforeseen delays, interruptions, or last-minute changes.
* Maintaining communication with key parties during the night shift.
* Analyzing performance data to improve operational efficiency.
* Arranging emergency response measures for transportation issues.
* Supporting continuous improvement within the logistics department.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in transportation coordination or logistics planning.
* Experience handling air freight.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, especially in communication with clients and drivers.
* Familiarity with route optimization tools and logistics software.
* Knowledge of European and UK transport laws.
* Ability to work night shifts (4 on, 4 off, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
