HR Assistant Job Description
Temporary 4 - 8 week assignment - starting asap
Rate: £15 - £18 per hour subject to skills and experience - ideal days 3 to 4 days per week, 8.30am to 4.30pm or 9am to 5pm.

Department: Human Resources
Responsible for: All HR functions within the governed remit of HR. Support HR with all accountabilities for paperwork needs and audit functions ensuring all policies are adhered to. Support employees in a confidential manner regarding their employment and accurately record information on the two main HR tool boards (Conf and BrightHR).
Job Purpose: Provide a timely and accurate service to all employees, Senior Management, and stakeholders. Complete documentation from onboarding to leavers including training coordination support, if and when required.
The HR department currently consists of a Head of HR and HR Team Leader with an opening for a second HR Assistant with training and development coordination experience.
Personal Attributes: This temporary assignment would best suit an energetic, enthusiastic, and collaborative person who is willing to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in. HR is a very busy department with an open-door policy and many stakeholders visiting with questions and requests. Empathy, kindness, and a good sense of humour are required to work in such a fast-moving environment.
Principal Accountabilities (Responsibilities):
1. HR Administration
2. Collaboration with HR team members providing strong administrative support.
3. Processing all paperwork associated with recruitment, training coordination, and variations to contracts.
4. Efficiently arranging interviews with candidates and interviewers, producing any required documents.
5. Arranging internal meetings and documents/paperwork.
6. Assisting with UK Right To Work checks, scanning, and filing relevant documentation.
7. Assisting in creating and maintaining all employee personnel files on HR tool boards (Conf and BrightHR), ensuring files are kept up to date, archiving leavers, and cleansing information held in line with the Data Protection Act.
8. Liaising and assisting stakeholders at all levels in the company.
9. The coordination of our training programme.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
1. Tech-savvy with experience of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and good with new technology.
2. Expert organisational skills and detail-oriented mentality.
3. Excellent attention to detail - ability to spot errors, think outside the box.
4. Active listening and strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
5. High initiative - naturally pro-active & active contributor.
6. Proven ability to work well under pressure and prioritise workload effectively.
7. High level of confidentiality and discretion.
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of human resources and UK employment law.
2. Understanding of statutory deductions.
3. Knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.
4. A knowledge of auto-enrollment pension scheme.
