We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Data Compliance and Systems Audit Officer in our Digital Service Division. Could you be who we are looking for?
This will be a temporary post until 31/10/2025 or upon return of the substantive post holder.
About the team/Department you will be joining:
The Digital Services Division (DSD) serves both Gwent Police and South Wales Police improving services through the application of technology. The team is responsible for making the process of policing more efficient and effective through the use of digital technology.
About the role and your key responsibilities:
Maintaining the quality of data held on police systems is instrumental in keeping the people of Gwent and South Wales safe. This critical role will identify information held on a variety of sensitive police and partner databases that is duplicated, inaccurate and/or inappropriately accessed/shared and investigate the circumstances. You will report on findings and implement solutions whilst also providing ongoing advice and guidance to law enforcement colleagues in an effort to continuously strive for high standards of data quality and compliance.
Working as part of a dedicated joint team, the post holder will undertake a range of research/review activities to identify and correct errors in data held on local and national systems, including current and historic data. The post holder will conduct audits on national and local IT systems and associated processes providing feedback locally and nationally. Such activities may include reviewing sensitive and restricted material.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
* Experience in reviewing information including well developed analytical skills and the ability to understand complex issues.
* Experience in collecting and accurately recording information and effectively communicating complex information to diverse audiences.
* Experience in using a variety of information management systems and proficiency in Microsoft applications.

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MVSC Vetting.
