Care to Join Us? We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Drums Lecturer to join our dynamic music team. As a department, we are passionate about continually developing our curriculum to make it practical and contemporary with a solid theoretical underpinning. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and dedicated guitar lecturer, to enable our learners to develop the skills relevant for further study or entering their chosen industry or profession. The post is for 4 hours per week, 20 weeks a year in the College's vibrant Music Department. Duties: Classroom teaching and tutorial work. All associated organisational and administrative work, preparation and marking and appropriate student welfare and academic counselling responsibilities; Making a full contribution to the team approach to learning and teaching. Implementing a student-centred negotiated learning programme in accordance with the College’s curriculum framework. Ensuring that students are informed of what is expected of them at every stage of their programme and that an awareness of what the programme involves is a feature of all reviews undertaken with students. Ensuring that appropriate assignments, tasks and activities are regularly set and assessed and that feedback is given to students in ways that will allow them to develop and achieve progression. Skills/Experience: Ability to teach across a range of music programmes from level 2 -4. Will be expected to devise and deliver lesson plans to students. Grade 8 on Drums and a high level of music theory is required. Ability to teach in a variety of styles and genres is beneficial, however all areas of expertise will be considered. Ability to support students through Rock School or RGT grades 1-8 is required, although support can be provided with this. Qualifications: Minimum GCSE Grade 4/C in English & Maths.
