: UKVI Compliance Officer
Salary: £28,000 - £33,000
Start: September 2025
Reporting to Deputy Head (Boarding & Pastoral Care).
Position Overview:
The UKVI Compliance Officer at St Andrews College, Cambridge, is responsible for ensuring adherence to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations, managing student attendance, coordinating guardianship arrangements, and overseeing homestay provisions. This multifaceted role involves collecting and managing student travel information, monitoring attendance, liaising with guardians and host families, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. The officer will generate regular reports for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Senior Management Team (SMT), highlighting areas of concern and recommending actions based on evaluations. This position reports directly to the Deputy Head, Academic.
Key Responsibilities:
1. UKVI Compliance:
* Ensure the college's adherence to UKVI regulations concerning international students.
* Maintain accurate records of student visas and related documentation.
* Stay updated on changes to immigration laws and update college policies accordingly.
1. Attendance Monitoring:
* Monitor and record student attendance daily, identifying patterns of concern.
* Follow up on unexplained absences through communication with students, parents, and relevant staff.
* Implement intervention strategies to address and improve poor attendance.
1. Guardianship Coordination:
* Liaise with guardianship agencies and guardians to ensure that they have completed the relevant college documentation for all students under their care.to ensure they are informed of student progress and welfare.
* Coordinate with guardians during emergencies or when important decisions are required.
* Maintain up-to-date records of guardian contact information and agreements.
* Ensure all relevant information is placed on the Student Management System (iSAMS).
1. Homestay Coordination:
* Oversee the placement of students with their chosen host family agency, ensuring suitability and safety and that all relevant paperwork has been completed.
* Communicate with the host family agencies to confirm arrangements and address concerns.
1. Data Collection and Management:
* Gather comprehensive travel information from all students, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Maintain an up-to-date database of student travel plans, including departure and arrival dates, destinations, and modes of transportation.
1. Coordination and Communication:
* Liaise with boarding staff, host families, and students in private accommodations to confirm travel arrangements.
* Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and relevant stakeholders regarding travel schedules and any changes.
1. Logistics and Planning:
* Coordinate transportation services as needed, including booking taxis, coaches, or other modes of transport.
* Ensure travel arrangements comply with the college's policies and safety standards.
1. Reporting and Evaluation:
* Prepare detailed half-termly reports for the SLT/SMT, identifying potential issues and proposing actionable solutions.
* Analyse data to identify trends or areas requiring attention.

* Ensure all activities adhere to the college's safeguarding policies.
* Stay informed about relevant advisories and communicate any pertinent information to students and staff.
1. Administrative Support:
* Assist with the development and implementation of related policies and procedures.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to all areas of responsibility.

Essential:
* Experience and Knowledge:
* Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within an educational setting.
* Familiarity with UKVI regulations and compliance requirements.
* Experience in managing student attendance and understanding of related policies.
* Experience in coordinating guardianship and homestay arrangements.
* Skills and Abilities:
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
