A Pharmacy assistant is required to support the ward based clinical Pharmacy Services at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate initiative and work to high standards of accuracy and reliability.
Other duties include:
1. Providing support in implementing developments within clinical services to meet the needs of the patient.
2. Labeling, dispensing, and supplying medication against hospital prescriptions.
3. Undertaking stock top-ups at ward level to maintain supplies of medicines for STH patients.
4. Transporting stock or named patient medications between Dispensaries or Stores departments and putting away securely at ward level.
5. Working flexibly between the hours of 8am and 8pm as part of the ward based and operational team in order to provide and maintain a comprehensive pharmaceutical service in line with current departmental policies and procedures.
The post will be based at either the Northern General Hospital or the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, but you may be required to work at any of the sites across the Trust when required. This post could also be based within the STH theatres department working alongside a Multi-disciplinary team, as a Medicines Management Assistant. Theatres are on both STH sites, so this post would be cross-site on a rotational basis.
