Our client is seeking a skilled Welder to join their team in Langley, Slough. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with gas welding, brazing, and silver soldering, particularly when working with brass and steel. About the Role: As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing gas welding, brazing, and silver soldering on brass and steel components to manufacture canisters. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. You will work from engineering drawings, ensuring all specifications are met accurately, and collaborate with production teams to achieve smooth workflow and meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform gas welding, brazing, and silver soldering on brass and steel components.
* Preheat materials as needed to prevent cracking and ensure optimal weld quality.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine appropriate welding techniques.
* Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
* Maintain welding equipment and perform routine checks to keep tools in safe working order.
* Troubleshoot and adjust welding techniques as necessary to maintain quality.
* Collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet project timelines.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area.
About You: The successful candidate will have a strong background in welding and metalworking, with particular expertise in gas welding, brazing, and silver soldering. You will need to demonstrate a high level of skill in handling brass and steel components and be comfortable following engineering drawings.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven experience in gas welding, brazing, and silver soldering, especially with brass and steel.
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Familiarity with preheating techniques for optimal weld quality.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
* Reliable, punctual, and willing to work overtime as needed.
* Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or collaboratively.
