Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Risk Management Advisor based at University Hospital Crosshouse, on fixed-term (18 months) or secondment basis.
What you will do:
The Risk Management Team in NHS Ayrshire & Arran are looking for a Risk Management Advisor to join their friendly, dedicated and supportive team.
Reporting to our Senior Risk Management Advisor, you will ideally have knowledge of Risk Management and Clinical Governance principles within an NHS Healthcare setting.
Duties include supporting the Risk Manager in respect of all risk activities within NHS Ayrshire & Arran, ensuring risks are identified and colleagues across the Board are supported in proactively managing these, in addition to developing and delivering local programmes of risk education and training, to meet identified needs.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Educated to Degree level with a qualification in Risk Management or equivalent experience is essential, although if you do not have this, but do a have a passion to develop, we would welcome your application*.
We need you to have excellent communication, influencing and analytical skills and not be daunted to challenge attitudes and behaviours to change practice. You will promote a positive risk management and learning environment where lessons are learned within a supportive culture.
Being able to work on your own initiative, is key, partnered with good team working skills. A flexible approach to working is essential and we do this by promoting the use of flexi-time within the team. You will have excellent IT and systems management skills.
Previous experience of working in a similar role is desirable however we are also open to hearing from individuals who may not have this experience but have a passion to be developed into the role, in a Trainee capacity. A planned programme of development and mentoring will be provided and on successful completion of appropriate competences a review of the post banding will be undertaken to bring you in line with the pay banding for an established Risk Management Advisor.
