Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker - Children's Home
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum / Up to £50 per sleep
About the Role:
Our client, a respected provider of residential care for children and young people, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in the residential childcare sector to take on a more senior, leadership-focused role and make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will work alongside the management team to ensure that the children and young people in your care receive high-quality support and care in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. You will take a lead role in supporting junior staff, guiding them to provide outstanding care while contributing to the development of care plans and the overall running of the home.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of Residential Support Workers, ensuring high standards of care for children with EBD.
? Assist with implementing individual care plans, using therapeutic approaches to support children with complex emotional needs.
? Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, offering support, supervision, and training.
? Promote positive behavior and utilize therapeutic strategies to manage complex behaviors associated with EBD.
? Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed, responding promptly to any concerns.
? Support the management team in preparing for inspections and ensuring the home meets regulatory requirements.
? Maintain accurate records and progress reports for children in care, ensuring documentation is in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
? Minimum 1 years experience as a Residential Support Worker in an EBD setting.
? Level 3 Children and Young People Workforce Qualification (or equivalent).
? Strong understanding of EBD care strategies, safeguarding, and child protection.
? Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing support and mentorship to junior staff.
? Experience in managing behavior and emotional difficulties associated with EBD.
Desirable Skills:
? Level 4 or 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).
? Previous experience in leading teams and mentoring staff.
