The Head of XCM (Cross-Category Cross-Channel Marketing) for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, which includes UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, is responsible for developing and executing marketing plans to build the Amazon brand in the region. This role involves creating long-term plans, conceptualizing and executing brand campaigns, and managing marketing investments. We are seeking a leader with the ability to foster brand creativity in the new age of media and content, along with experience in building technology consumer brands. The ideal candidate will possess a strong functional understanding of brand building, media planning, communication development, insight mining, and will be customer-obsessed, analytical, and passionate about driving innovative campaigns. The ability to integrate data, insights, and creativity to deliver relevant campaigns is essential.
This position is one of the key senior leaders within the MENA Marketing organization and will manage teams of Communication Managers, Media and Investment Managers, and Consumer Research. The impact of this role is significant, accounting for a large percentage of the Amazon MENA customer funnel and business.
This role requires someone with proficiency in the Arabic language and functional experience in brand building within the region.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Develop creatively bar-raising cross-channel integrated campaigns (Online Video, Social, Influencers, Radio, OOH, etc.) to elevate the Amazon brand and its perceptions.
2. Build a network of strong creative agency and production partners to deliver insightful, localized, and creatively bar-raising campaigns.
3. Effectively drive marketing investment strategy in partnership with the media agency.
4. Hire and scale external creative, research, and production agency partners.
5. Hire and develop a strong functional and leadership team.
6. Build strong partnerships with local and international leadership.
7. Develop and execute a research roadmap to guide marketing and business decisions.
About the Team
The role is part of the MENA+TR Marketing and Prime Organization, reporting to the Director of Marketing & Prime. The role is on par with other senior marketing leaders in Automated Marketing, Prime Program, Lifecycle Marketing, Country Marketing, etc. This role also collaborates closely with Emerging Countries and the Worldwide Marketing Team, as well as local business teams.
Minimum Requirements
1. 12+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience.
2. Experience directly managing teams.
3. Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams.
4. Experience guiding creative input, development, and execution from concept to completion.
5. Experience defining marketing strategy and executional excellence.
6. Experience working with executive leadership in large organizations.
7. Proven experience in building a brand in a new-age media and content landscape.
8. Senior-level marketing experience in Consumer Technology and/or FMCG.
9. Arabic speaker with marketing experience across the region, specifically in UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
10. Deep expertise with digital platforms and curiosity for emerging trends in marketing and technology.
11. Left and right-brain thinker with a love of numbers and creativity.
12. Experience in effectively managing marketing investments.
13. Strong experience and network to deliver through creative, digital, and media agencies.
14. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Marketing experience across both FMCG and Consumer Technology.
2. Post-graduate education/Master's level qualification (MBA from a top-tier school is a plus).
