We have an exciting opportunity within Specimen Reception in the Division of Laboratory Medicine. Do you have good verbal and written communication skills, good attention to detail, and work well in a team? An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Medical Laboratory Assistant.

Main duties of the job
Specimen Reception accommodation is at Trafford General Hospital, site of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). Please note this is a full-time post - 37.5 hours per week (Site: ORC, TGH, NMGH, WYTH (multisite working) 24/7 rota). The department runs a state-of-the-art automated blood track to support the Trust's leading laboratories. The team you’ll be joining provides a quality service unpacking, labelling, and registering specimens as well as using pre- and post-analytic equipment.
The post offers a great opportunity to gain laboratory experience in Blood Sciences, in a stimulating environment with support from a highly experienced and committed team of professionals. CSR provides a 24/7 service and the post will be rostered for shifts to support this. You will also be expected to work at other MFT Specimen Receptions when required.
A good standard of education (to GCSE level or equivalent) is necessary as are good keyboard skills. You should be flexible, methodical, and organised with good communication skills. Full in-service training will be provided.
You will be supported throughout with regular reviews of progress to develop appropriate knowledge and skills to enable personal development.
