The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) is the world’s leading think tank examining geopolitical and geo-economic risk from an international perspective, with a specialist expertise in risks with a national security dimension. The IISS has offices in London, Berlin, Singapore, Manama and Washington DC. Arundel House Enterprises Ltd. (AHEL) is the commercial subsidiary of the IISS, which this role will be contracted under.
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Business Development Manager to sell three brand new innovative digital products currently in development as part of the Digital Project, based in London. This is an exciting opportunity to take new products from concept to marketplace. As the Digital Project grows, the role will be responsible for supporting development of the new services, identifying markets and selling into them. The successful candidate will have confidence to drive sales and break into new markets.
Responsibilities
* This is a solo position reporting to our Digital Director and working alongside a new Sales Support Coordinator.
* You will be experienced in proactively finding new clients through previous contacts or other means.
* You will identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold calling and other outreach, and attending industry events.
* You will manage the sales cycle from prospecting and qualifying leads to negotiating contracts and closing high-value deals.
* You will develop and implement strategic business development plans to expand our customer base and drive revenue growth.
* Prepare regular reports and presentations for management to track business development activities and results.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships by engaging with key stakeholders, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and demonstrable ability to connect with senior level clients.
* Extensive experience in a ‘hunter’ role.
* Experience in business intelligence, SaaS or professional services preferred.
* A demonstrable track record of achievement in new business sales and building client relationships.
* The ability to learn about complex new subjects enough to sell to customers.
* A self-starter able to organise sales activity to achieve targets (revenue and activity).
* A willingness to work with IISS colleagues to help you win business.
* A polished style with experience selling to senior roles.
* Experience using a CRM.
* Experience producing accurate forecasting & reporting.
* Previous experience in the cyber warfare and defence sectors is not necessary but would be advantageous.
Remuneration
Salary is competitive, dependent upon the skills and experience of the successful candidate, alongside performance related bonus and a comprehensive range of benefits.
