Recruiting for an experienced school Chef Manager with motivation in leading the catering operations in a primary school located in Surbiton.
Cooking 450 meals per day term time plus inset days.
Working hours are 7.30am to 2pm, 32.5 hours per week Monday – Friday.
Must have a kind nature as you will be hands-on and also assisting in serving the children, making sure the kitchen and serving area are clean and hygienic.
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen and ensuring the smooth delivery of meals to students and staff. You will also manage the company’s bookwork, including a meal ordering portal, while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production and service.
2. Oversee menu planning and food preparation, with a focus on nutrition and dietary requirements.
3. Manage and maintain the meal ordering portal, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of orders.
4. Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
5. Manage stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
6. Oversee the company bookwork related to our catering operations.
7. Train, develop, and motivate kitchen staff to achieve excellence.
Minimum Requirements:
1. At least two years of experience in a similar Chef Manager role, ideally within the education sector.
2. Strong culinary skills with a passion for delivering high-quality meals.
3. Excellent organisational and management skills.
4. Good level of IT proficiency, particularly with online ordering systems.
5. Full DBS check required.
6. Successful completion of a trade test.
