The world Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system. We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Specialist to join our Environmental Health & Safety team, providing pivotal support to the ongoing activities around our operational functionality business, with a focus on Health and Safety processes. You will be responsible for conducting the environmental, health and safety performance and identifying risks or areas for improvement
as well as investigating environmental or safety incidents.
Main Tasks
1. Develops and conducts EHS training and provides resources to assist in training employees on safe work practices.
2. Interface with employees and departments on safety, transportation and environmental related issues and concerns.
3. Assist with site Emergency Response Team.
4. Initiate and submit safety and environmental reports to management, Division, Corporate and regulatory agencies.
5. Investigate accidents and develop corrections.
6. Complete EHS projects as assigned.
7. Overall site wide employee health and safety responsibilities and accountability.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a small team, but also interact on a wider business scale, leading and influencing where necessary. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing and dynamic environment.
