Full time, fixed term contract for two years
About The Countryside Regeneration Trust
The CRT’s founders, Robin Page, and Gordon Beningfield had a vision that was ahead of its time. The understanding of the need for farmland to be managed in an environmentally sensitive way has never been as widely acknowledged as it is now.
It is our responsibility to move with the times to keep the CRT and its founders’ vision alive and to remain as a champion of countryside regeneration working with local communities, like-minded organisations, and volunteers.
While it’s important to look back for valuable knowledge and experience, we must combine traditional techniques with innovation to help reverse the decline of biodiversity and ensure the countryside we all love is resilient to the effects of climate change.
Our approach
Every CRT property adopts its own unique approach – guided by CRT, land management advisors and supported with subsidies – to achieve its specific objectives. Key properties are reshaping their offering so more people can experience the benefits of the countryside.
Our goal is to adopt and share regenerative farming practices that reverse the decline in biodiversity. Controlling invasive species and providing targeted help through our conservation strategies, encouraging native and declining species to return. Sensitive land management allows native plant populations to regenerate, creating the right environment for biological variety in the English countryside to flourish.
