Job Description
Work within a group of highly creative and skilled design engineers to deliver high-quality surface geometry models to aid the aerodynamic development of the team’s race cars.
Main Duties
* Deliver high quality and complex surface geometry models for CFD, Wind Tunnel and full-size release.
* Work closely with Aerodynamicists to understand the definition and scope of all new surfaces, including modelling and construction approach.
* Liaise with model designers to ensure efficient implementation of aerodynamic projects.
* Support with the release of aero surface geometry to the full-size car design office.
* Liaise with full-size car designers to create high-quality surface geometry for full-size release.
* Mentor junior members of the group and support pushing forward methodologies and modelling improvements.
* Support the implementation of standard design practices.
Requirements
* A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering / Design / Motorsport) or similar.
* A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry.
* Extensive experience with 3D CAD software (preferably 3DExperience/CATIA).
* Strong knowledge and understanding of surface quality, model layout and robustness.
* Possess a high level of understanding of surfacing and parametric modelling techniques.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors.
* Ability to line manage/lead teams effectively.
* Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors.
* Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.
* Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
