The Category Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Senior Category Manager in the successful execution of category strategies. Assist in gathering and analysing data to track the performance of key product categories Provide insights into category trends, sales performance, stock levels, and competitor activities Prepare regular reports and dashboards to monitor and improve category performance Support the Senior Category Manager in building strong relationships with suppliers and maintaining an effective supply chain Assist in negotiating with suppliers for better pricing, terms, and promotions Assist with the selection and optimisation of product ranges for specific categories Support merchandising to ensure that product listings and descriptions on the website are accurate and up-to-date Monitor product performance and suggest changes or improvements to the assortment Work closely with the marketing, supply chain, and e-commerce teams to ensure alignment on category strategies and promotions Support the execution of category-based campaigns and product launches Provide general administrative assistance to the Senior Category Manager, including maintaining spreadsheets, creating presentations, and tracking budgets Who are we looking for? Experience in category, merchandising, or buying is essential Experience in retail or e-commerce (preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector) is desirable Experience in using analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Google Analytics, or similar platforms) is an advantage A good understanding of retail operations, supply chain management, and inventory control Knowledge of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry is a plus Knowledge of category management principles and methodologies would be advantageous Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and online retailing is a plus High level of accuracy in data entry, reporting, and stock management Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal teams and external suppliers What happens next?
