Job Title: Psychology Teaching Assistant Location: Dudley, West Midlands Contract Type: Full-time We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychology Teaching Assistant to join our school in Dudley. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in psychology who is passionate about supporting students’ learning, well-being, and development. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to enhance students’ understanding of psychological concepts and provide emotional and academic support. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the delivery of psychology lessons, supporting students in their learning and understanding of psychological theories and research. Provide emotional and social support to students, promoting positive mental health and well-being. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to support students with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. Develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement and academic performance. Offer one-to-one and small group interventions to support students’ psychological and emotional needs. Act as a trusted mentor for students, providing guidance and a listening ear when needed. Assist with safeguarding concerns and liaise with external agencies where necessary. Promote a positive school environment, fostering a culture of respect and inclusion. The Ideal Candidate Will: Have a degree or background in Psychology (or a related field). Have experience working with children or young people in an educational or support capacity. Demonstrate empathy, patience, and the ability to build strong relationships with students. Have knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures. Be able to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
