Data and Business Analyst Apprentice
This position will be remote or can be based at our Fareham location. You will receive mentorship with guidance and support from experienced professionals.
What you will be doing
As a Data and Business Analyst Apprentice in our Port Optimization Business Insights team, you'll play a vital role in driving informed decision-making through data-driven analysis. You'll work closely with your mentor to extract valuable insights from both internal and external data sources, contributing to market modelling, market potential assessment, and business case development.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Data Acquisition and Cleaning: Collect and organize data from diverse sources, ensuring its accuracy and integrity.
* Data Visualization: Create compelling visualisations (e.g., charts, graphs) to effectively communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders.
* Data Analysis: Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within datasets, understanding the underlying drivers and causes.
* Data Modelling: Develop models to simulate various market or business scenarios and estimate their financial implications.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
* Self-Motivation and Drive: A passion for learning and a willingness to take on challenges.
* Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
* Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with data analysis & visualisation tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, PowerBI) is a plus.
* Communication Skills: Ability to clearly convey complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* While not mandatory, work experience in maritime, software, engineering, or financial industries can be advantageous.
