Job summary Lawton House surgery is looking for a full-time practice pharmacy technician who will work alongside healthcare professionals, based within a GP practice, and support the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient systems for medicines optimisation, repeat prescribing, reducing medicine waste and maximising patient outcomes. The GP practice pharmacy technician will be under the supervision of the GPs at the practice. They are registered healthcare professionals who are responsible and accountable for their own accurate and safe practice. Ongoing training and development about all aspects of practice based prescribing and effective administration will be carried out by the Pharmacy Technician. They will support the practice in providing medication reviews and achieving Quality and Outcomes Framework targets. Undertaking medicines reconciliation in line with practice protocols and standard operating procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of prescriptions and repeat prescriptions. Participating in the updating of patient records from clinical letters and information received within the practice. Checking the accuracy of medicines for prescriptions. Assisting in the monitoring and management of prescribing budgets and the preparation of evidence-based resources and information that support cost-effective prescribing.
