We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart.
Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to support the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship and Nursing Associate programmes.
With increasing numbers of nursing apprentices, we are looking for a motivated and committed individual from a health/social care background, with the necessary knowledge and leadership skills to support the programme team in the effective and high-quality delivery of the BSc Nursing Apprenticeship and FdSc Nursing Associate. You will be working alongside our inspiring and supportive team contributing to the teaching, assessment, student support, and programme development. Your role is key in enhancing the current programme and ensuring a high-quality student experience. The programme is delivered using a blended approach with a mix of online and face-to-face teaching using innovative methods. Staff supporting this programme work as one team with academics supporting the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship and the FdSc Nursing Associate (apprenticeship and non-apprenticeship). We currently have apprentices across the programmes studying from a range of nursing settings and contexts. Links with practice will be maintained through undertaking Tripartite reviews and working closely with apprentices and employers.
We are seeking innovative, creative, high-quality researchers and scholars to foster a culture of exploration, discovery, and intellectual challenge that generates international recognition, respect, and engagement. Working in partnership with local NHS trusts, health and social care providers, service users, and carers; our Institute of Health provides initial pre-registration education for a broad range of health care professionals. Our aim is to support the skills requirements of the region by attracting and retaining health professionals who will provide high-quality, evidence-based care in a time of change in health and social care.
In return, the University offers an attractive benefits package including 35 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, 25 research and scholarly activity days, support for professional development, support to achieve Higher Education Academy/Advance HE accreditation, mentor provision in the first year of employment, and opportunity for career development.
We encourage applications from the broadest range of society, including all under-represented groups with particular emphasis on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in our University and in comparison to the sector.
