Job Purpose
This role is responsible for establishing and enforcing the systems and processes required to deliver quality for low volume vehicle projects.
The role interfaces with all stages of the vehicle process from Engineering target definition,
through supplier quality management, receiving inspection, production quality and vehicle sign off.
Provides quality steering / leadership to ensure robust communication, planning and delivery of quality and is the first point of contact for part or vehicle quality concerns.
Main Responsibilities:
Bought Parts Quality
* Establishing control plans & ensuring conformity of all bought parts through supplier management & part receiving inspection.
* Supplier selection
* Accreditations (IATF,VDA)
* Supplier Audits
* Assessment Methods (e.g. QTR / supplier Performance
* Bought part Quality Planning
* APQP / Maturity Level Assurance (incl. part test requirements)
* Part Approval incl. compliance
Build Quality Check points
* Establishing when and how quality checks are applied to vehicles in build & acts as first point of escalation for issues.
* A-Surface gap /profile
* Colour matching
* Function testing (e.g. closures)
* Joint overchecks
* Recording of vehicle checking in a traceable manner
End of Line Quality / Vehicle Sign Off
* Establish the functional & cosmetic attributes to be confirmed in order to release a car to the customer & acts as first point of escalation for issues.
0 MIS Vehicle problem analysis
* Support the sales organisation in the analysis of any pre-handover vehicle issues (E.g. shakedown testing, cosmetic concerns etc)
Liaison with GQ functions (For projects sharing content with mainstream models)
* Direct liaison with the GQ responsible parties to ensure alignment / clear communication / robust issue resolution
Skills & Experience
* Experience of low volume supplier management
* Experience of automotive quality standards and requirements
* Problem Solving Skills
* Communication skills
* Understanding of tolerance and be able to read Engineering Drawings
* Understanding of vehicle assembly
* Strong planning, project and time management skills
