Due to continued growth and success, we are looking to expand our team with a skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor.
Role Overview
We are seeking a talented and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction cost management, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to provide sound financial advice and support on construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing project costs from inception to completion, ensuring projects are completed within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
• Prepare and analyse costings for tenders.
• Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering to optimize project costs.
• Manage procurement processes, including preparing tender documents and evaluating bids.
• Monitor project costs and track any variations against the agreed budget.
• Provide cost advice and recommendations to clients and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective and timely project delivery.
• Prepare interim and final accounts and resolve any contractual disputes.
• Undertake site visits to assess the progress of works and ensure compliance with budgets.
• Prepare and maintain detailed cost reports and financial forecasts for senior management.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• Professional membership of a relevant body (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and project procurement.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards is an advantage.
