Then our weight management service is the place for you. We are looking for a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. You will support the professional manager in improving the level 3 service and provide clinical input for level 3 and triaging. There are leadership opportunities to take part in the operational management and supervision of team members.
You will have the support of a professional manager and be part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering an innovative service in line with the All Wales Weight Management Strategy. The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience of leading and evaluating service development and improvement, collaborative working and possess expert knowledge of weight management.

We have 0.6 WTE/ 22.5 hours available and will consider flexible working arrangements to help you to achieve a good work-life balance. There will also be an opportunity for some working from home.

Main Responsibilities
* To demonstrate clinical effectiveness by the use of evidence based outcomes.
* Lead on specific clinical audit/research projects within weight management.
* To provide leadership for junior staff and support staff and contribute to their development, as a delegated supervisor.
* To develop departmental policy and participate in national policy development as required.
* Act as a source of expertise to other colleagues working within and outside CTMUHB.
* Educate and train students, colleagues and other health care professionals.
* Work autonomously to provide expert clinical and ethical advice to service users, colleagues and service leads.
* Interpret national and professional clinical guidelines and policies and work with the head of service/deputy heads of service to develop clinically appropriate standards.
Qualifications & Knowledge
* First level nurse registration. MSc Evidence of CPD
* Teaching and assessing in clinical practice/Teaching qualification.
* Evidence of specific knowledge and skills in speciality.
* Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice.
* Knowledge of health issues affecting the local population and strategies in place to support improvement in these areas.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience in relevant speciality.
* Significant post registration experience.
* Experience of conducting clinical audit and or research.
* Experience of clinical supervision of students and junior colleagues.
* Experience of organising and implementing training programmes for staff, patients and students.
* Practical experience of human resource management, supervision and mentoring.

* Evidence of excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Demonstrate sound IT skills. Evidence of managing self-development.
* Evidence of ability to work independently.
* Demonstrate ability to influence within and outside of service, across multi/inter disciplinary groups.

* Able to travel to meet the needs of the post. Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards.
