Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Engineering Manager to oversee the SMT, Electronics, and PCB operations.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both Electronics Engineering and management, with proven success in leading and developing cross-functional teams.
This is a hands-on, site-based role, so you will be needed to travel to site on a daily basis. There may be the possibility of some hybrid work at a later stage, but this is not guaranteed.
Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the engineering teams, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
2. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in SMT, Electronics, and PCB processes, ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute operational strategies that align with business objectives.
4. Oversee the production schedule, resource allocation, and budget management to meet project deadlines and financial targets.
Qualifications / Experience
1. A degree in Engineering (or equivalent qualification + experience), or a related field within Electronics or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
2. Proven experience in a leadership role within the electronics manufacturing industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of SMT processes, PCB design, and assembly operations.
4. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
6. Any understanding of IPC classes and standards would also be very beneficial.
Day-to-day
1. Leading team meetings to discuss project updates and address any potential challenges.
2. Reviewing and analysing production metrics to identify areas for improvement.
3. Providing regular feedback and coaching to team members to foster professional growth.
4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
5. Staying informed about industry trends and advancements in electronics manufacturing to inform strategic planning.
