Job summary There is an opportunity arisen within the colposcopy speciality in Gynaecology at UHB for a Registered Nurse to undergo training and development to become a Clinical Nurse specialist in Colposcopy, this role will be a band 6 whilst undergoing training, and once completed the relevant training and running independent clinics will be a band 7. (hence the 2 JDs attached) In partnership with the multidisciplinary team the post holder will learn and develop the role of a specialist nurse in colposcopy delivering high quality clinical care. The post holder will learn to demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service eventually providing advice, education, and support to staff, patients, their families, and carers in the colposcopy speciality. The post holder will eventually practice autonomously within their defined specialty to provide patient centred quality care. This will encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice. They will ensure safe treatment, referral, follow up and discharge of patients within their designated specialty. They will act as a specialist resource and provide specialist advice in relation to care of patients in their speciality.
