Role Overview
As an Assistant Retail Manager, you will support the team in boosting sales, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of stock presentation and store cleanliness.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Retail Manager in maximizing sales through high standards of display, stock rotation, and pricing of donated items.
* Maintain merchandising awareness, stay updated with trends and competitors.
* Maximize Gift Aid income and oversee display and administration of goods, minimizing stock loss.
* Engage with customers, coach volunteers and staff to promote donations, charity contributions, and loyalty sign-ups.
* Engage with the community to encourage repeat visits, donations, volunteer recruitment, and involvement.
* Support recruitment and management of volunteers, ensuring adherence to Marie Curie procedures.
* In the absence of the Retail Manager, take responsibility for store management and operations.
Key Criteria
* Previous retail experience, preferably in fashion/clothing.
* Experience with cash handling and sales record management.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first approach.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good organizational skills and workload prioritization.
* Understanding of retail health and safety procedures.
* Experience in managing and motivating volunteers is desirable.
