Job Description:
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To operate the business on a day-to-day basis ensuring designated operational areas are run professionally, efficiently & to a high service standard. Forward planning & strong people management is a must.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Deliver functions and events meeting and exceeding customer expectation whilst supervising and developing colleagues.
2. Taking responsibility of managing up to 20+ direct zero-hour reports, including development, employment relation issues and specifically managing absenteeism.
3. Responsible for recruiting and developing a first-class team, monitoring performance of staff using appropriate measures and timely feedback.
4. Ensures colleagues are trained in all aspects of role – ability to recognise training requirements and offer ‘hands on’ approach.
5. To implement, monitor and oversee delivery of all standards, meeting, and exceeding customer expectations.
6. To communicate effectively with clients and all team members through various methods such as regular briefings/meetings & individual discussions.
7. Advanced planning, organising & preparing of event mandatory paperwork.
8. To provide effective complaint handling in accordance with standards by investigating complaints, liaising with customers and staff to determining necessary action.
9. To demonstrate high leadership skills thereby providing the basis for high group moral and colleagues motivation.
10. To allocate duties and responsibilities to all team members.
11. To ensure that all products and services are carefully noted and delivered to the customer’s satisfaction.
12. Control of the temporary labour budget.
13. Manages and effectively plans resources for events to the required departmental SOP Manuals, as allocated by the Food & Beverage Manager.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. CIEH Intermediate Hygiene Certificate and IOSHH qualified preferred.
2. Computer Literate to be competent in Microsoft Office.
3. Proven ability to work under pressure with excellent customer service skills and an eye for “attention to detail”.
4. Ideally hold a personal liquor licence.
5. Numerate & literate with good verbal & written communication skills.
6. Responsible for recruiting and developing a first-class team, monitoring performance of staff using appropriate measures and timely feedback.
7. To have a sound knowledge of a busy corporate hospitality environment.
8. Strong leadership qualities who can lead and motivate a team to excel.
9. Financial and cost awareness.
10. Demonstrated capacity to deliver against objective.
11. Ability to work with autonomy as well as with a team.
12. Ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines are crucial and be able to work across several events and manage time effectively.
13. Passion, energy, drive and commitment and Can-Do attitude.
14. Client focused to deliver.
