We are looking for an experienced Care / Support worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting one of our clients in the Blackburn area. The role will be varied, but you will be supporting our client who is non-verbal and living with cerebral palsy to lead an individual and independent lifestyle within their own home and the community. Our client has a wide range of interests particularly Blackburn Rovers football, boxing, and swimming.
You will be working as part of a small team on a 1:1 (occasionally 2:1) basis.
Your contracted hours will be: 30 hours per week

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.
Who we are looking for:
You must be self-motivated, well-organised, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with experience of:
* Incontinence management.
* Moving and Handling (including hoisting).
* Domestic duties (Laundry, cleaning, cooking nutritious meals).
* Support to travel to appointments, participate in social activities including swimming and be able to confidently support with hydrotherapy sessions.
* Monitoring of general health and well-being, daily record keeping as such.
* Supporting and communicating with someone who is non-verbal.
You should also have:
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.
* A clean, full driving licence is essential (There is use of a wheelchair accessible vehicle)
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check. You must also have eligibility to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship.
