As a result of continued growth at PureGym, we are looking for a brand new Development Project Manager to join our team!
Working in an end-end property project management role, you will be fully accountable for the successful delivery of all allocated property developments, covering both new and existing sites for PureGym. As part of the Property Development team, you will play a key role in developing our presence across the UK and making health and fitness accessible to the masses.
Through effective project leadership, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of architects, design managers, quantity surveyors and other internal and external specialists to deliver multiple gym development projects on time and budget.
Responsibilities of the Development Project Manager include:
* Assess the feasibility of potential new sites prior to acquisition in addition to providing appropriate technical evaluation of each site and corresponding development requirements.
* Ensure effective delivery of each development site, from initial acquisition through to opening, delivering the required project outcomes on time, to cost and quality requirements, including all documentation and handover requirements. Overcome barriers to ensure projects are delivered at the earliest viable opportunity.
* Provide appropriate decision making at key stages in the property development process, using governance forums where required, in addition to ensuring the appropriate relevant specialist technical input regarding M&E, acoustics etc is incorporated into the design and delivery of each site.
* Ensure all budgets and capex investments are approved and expenditure is tracked in line with Finance requirements
* Verify all approvals and consents are in place through effectively liaising with landlords and local authorities. Input into the continuous improvement of gym formats and design standards.
* Manage all third parties and associated dependencies involved in the development project as well as optimising the value of each site project through the utilisation of procurement outcomes
* Ensure all relevant specialist technical input regarding mechanical, electrical, acoustics etc. is incorporated into the design and delivery. Health and safety requirements need to be appropriately observed and adhered to throughout the development process.
The Person:
* You will be a highly capable project manager with experience in delivering of multi-site property developments consistently and at scale, as well as being a fantastic team leader who is able to motivate a multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional results.
* Ability to prioritise and deliver to hit critical milestones, with the ability to develop different approaches to overcome risks and blockages. A highly capable operator, who can successfully resolve difficult situations and make critical decisions under pressure.
* Ideally, you will have experience in working with large scale organisations in a customer facing industry as well as managing third party contractors and advisers to deliver required results, in addition to managing capex budgets of more than £1 million per site.
* Proactive, accountable, hands-on, adaptable and able to react quickly in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Strong leadership skills, process oriented, and able to work cross-functionally to bring together all parts of the business
* Able to evaluate investment decisions considering member and brand expectations in line with the required levels of return
* Educated to degree level or similar and ideally equipped with a professional qualification in the areas of property development project management, surveying, architecture or similar.
