Job summary If you are passionate about podiatry and want to provide a quality service for the high risk patients of Bolton, we are looking to welcome you into our integrated specialist podiatry team. The successful candidate will be responsible for treatment planning and management of foot complications associated with e.g. diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and vascular / ischaemic long-term conditions. You will be part of the foot protection team and have the opportunity to work across all areas of podiatry including: biomechanics/ MSK assessment clinics, orthoses manufacturing, ulcer/ wound-care clinics, nail surgery and PAD clinics. The post holder will also have the opportunity to work in the diabetes centre, the hospital and community. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary therapy team offering specialist podiatric assessment and treatment via a holistic approach, to a varied and complex caseload. The post holder will work across both community settings and within a hospital-based environment, and clinical work will be from a variety of community clinic locations and domiciliary settings; a car is therefore essential for this role. You will actively participate in regular CPD sessions and complex case discussions; and staff support is provided via one-to-one meetings and group supervision sessions. You will be directly managed by, and report to, the Podiatry Team Lead. Band 5/ 6 progression posts and part-time hours may be considered. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide an efficient and high quality specialised podiatry service for high risk patients throughout all specialist areas as per service need. As an experienced autonomous practitioner they will assess, diagnose and treat patients on their case lists in all clinical settings. Post holder will supervise recently qualified podiatrists, assistants and students. Participate in Continuing Professional Development, clinical audit and in-service training. Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of their professional and clinical work, working to agreed national and professional standards.
