About the Role As a Cloud Infrastructure Designer you will be driving the technical architectural decisions for solution delivery across our internal cloud and IAAS platforms. You will also be responsible for providing governance for all cloud solutions; articulating and documenting new deployments and providing the requestor and delivery team with full solution designs enabling deployment of a supported, scalable and commercially efficient solution. You will be working with the wider team and business to ensure we are building scalable, secure and supportable solutions working with the cloud architects, network architecture and security SME’s to ensure we are following both industry and PXC best practice. What you will be working on Work closely with business analysts, project managers and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into cloud deployments. Communicate complex cloud concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner Creation, ownership and review of both High-level and Low-level cloud designs Propose and build repeatable cloud deployment templates to improve future deployments and reduce support and operating cost Become the SME for all on-premise cloud solution deployments Responsible for the evaluation of technical risks including clear definition of licencing and infrastructure requirements required for each solution Responsible for advising on cloud architecture solutions to effectively meet the strategic needs of the business Work closely with the Cloud, Security Architects and application owners to ensure designs meet security and business requirements and align to the capabilities and capacities of our IAAS and on-premises cloud platforms Support the delivery teams with guided approaches, skill development and bridging the gaps in the ongoing support approach Ensure connectivity requirements and security is ingrained as part of every cloud design What will make you successful in your role? 5 years’ experience in solution definition across cloud IAAS platforms 5 years of experience working with VMware, storage and virtualised cloud environment including multi-tenant environments.
