Job title: SHE Advisor – Risk
Location: Barrow-in-Furness. This role is fully onsite
Salary: Circa £44,984
What you’ll be doing:
Ensuring that there is timely and consistent advice, support, coaching and governance of SHE (Safety, Heath and Environment) standards and legislation to support all activities across the organisation.
To support in the development and embedding of a robust and compliant SHE management system with the Submarines business and support the SHE improvement programme
Supporting, leading and delivering key risk reduction and improvement projects / activities
Ensure professional and accountable interface with all stakeholders
To ensure all applicable aspects if the Safety, Health and Environment Operations Plan and Strategy is delivered to schedule across all Submarine sites
Provide support and governance to investigations, ensuring comprehensive reports with root cause analysis
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Knowledge of SHE management systems covering continuous improvement and risk management
Proven background of driving a positive SHE culture
Experience in assurance and governance over investigation processes / stakeholder interactions, report writing and investigative skills
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety of equivalent
Desirable:
Proven background of undertaking investigations
Worked in a regulated / heavy regulated environment
Previous experience of using business reporting systems

As a SHE Advisor with the Safety, Health and Environment Team, you will be involved in one of the most exciting engineering programmes in the UK, providing professional SHE advice to ensure compliance and safe construction, test and delivery of Nuclear Submarines. We offer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria
